Futurama

  • Client: Fox / Comedy Central

Reverb teamed up with the legendary Matt Groening and Executive Producer David X. Cohen to produce 4 Seasons of out-of -this-world extras for the animation hit Futurama.

We produced tons of new and engrossing content for these box sets,  including:

  • Season 5: Behind the Fungus: Makin’ A Hit Song featuring star Billy West recording the 31st-Century mega-hit “Shut Up and Love Me,” The Adventures of Delivery -Boy Man - an animated comic book scribbled and performed by Philip J. Fry and The Prisoner of Benda - a live and unrehearsed table read with the cast and crew, accompanied by hundreds of early storyboards.
  • Season 6: The documentary Professor Farnsworth’s “Science of a Scene”  - an inside look at how a Futurama episode is made, hosted by Professor Farnsworth himself; Futurama F.A.Q. (Frequently Axed Questions) – Producers and Writers answer fan questions, hosted by Bender; And  Reincarnation Explained! - a look at the three different styles of animation shown in the season finale.
  • Season 7: Christopher Tyng’s Big Score: A Jam Session with Futurama’s Innovative Composer, Futurama Karaoke: Sing Along with Your Favorite Characters and Möbius Trip: Infinite Futurama Screen Loops.
  • Season 8: Futurama University - A three-part documentary covering the animation process at Rough Draft Studios and The Writers’ Room of Tomorrow - an ultra-rare glimpse into the Emmy®-winning writers’ room!

Every season featured tons of never-before seen Deleted Scene and audio commentaries on every single episode, including Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, cast-members, animators, writers and many others!

We Bought A Zoo

  • Client: Fox

Reverb teamed up with one of our all-time favorite directors – Cameron Crowe - and Vinyl Films to produce nearly 3 hours of special features for the home video release of We Bought A Zoo.

Extras include the massive 75 minute making-of documentary We Shot A Zoo- Narrated by Cameron Crowe and featuring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, Elle Fanning and a 600lb lion named Felix. Their Happy Is Too Loud is an ultra-rare glimpse in the music studio with Director Cameron Crowe and film composer/Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi. The Real Mee is a 30-minute journey to the Dartmoor Zoo for a heartwarming look at the real Benjamin Mee and his incredible family whose actual story inspired the film.  Rounding out the extras are nearly 40 minutes of Deleted Scenes, a gag reel and a feature-length commentary with Cameron Crowe, JB Smoove & Editor Mark Livolsi.

Easily one of our favorite projects of all time.

Raising Hope

Reverb teamed up with our old friends from My Name is Earl to produce content for their new hit-show Raising Hope. Extras include the documentaries Taking Chances: Shooting the Season Finale -a behind-the-scenes look at shooting the season finale episode & Adorable Stars: Meet the Hopes - a look at the twin babies who play “Hope” on the show. Other content includes the hilarious Moments with Mrs. Chance, a Gag Reel and commentaries featuring creator Greg Garcia, Lucas Neff, Martha Plimpton & Garret Dillahunt.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

  • Client: Fox

This project took us halfway around the world – to the sunny Gold Coast in Australia- where filmmakers shot the  highly-anticipated sequel to the popular Chronicles of Narnia series.

Reverb worked with filmmakers to produce the documentary Good vs. Evil: Battle on the Sea - an in-depth look at the massive Dawn Treader set-piece and the filming of the climactic battle between the Dawn Treader crew and the evil serpent. Filming took place on 5 massive bluescreen soundstages and included a motorized-version of the ship, water cannons, dozens of stuntmen and hundreds of crew members. Other extras include Portal to Narnia: A Painting Comes to Life – a behind-the-scenes look at how the children entered Narnia and a feature-length commentary featuring Director Michael Apted and Producer Mark Johnson.

In addition, Reverb teamed up with Trailer Park to create engrossing interactive content, including new voice-overs from the cast as well as story extensions not seen in the film.

Reverb teamed up  for 3 Seasons with EARL Creators Greg Garcia & Mark Buckland and Producer/Star Jason Lee to bring unusually-packed DVDs full of extra content for the show’s fans. Season One featured the critically-acclaimed 40-minute documentary Makin’ Things Right  - a unique look at the making of the show,  tons of audio commentaries from Greg Garcia, Mark Buckland, Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, Jaime Pressly, Nadine Velazquez, Eddie Steeples, and Giovanni Ribisi among others. And yes – even a commentary by the cast’s moms.

Season Two included the 40-minute documentary The Stoner Files featuring Christian Slater, Deleted & Extended Scenes with commentary by the creators, blooper reel and tons more commentaries with creators, directors, cast, guest stars, writers, producers and more…

For their 4th and final season,  Reverb produced one last batch of exciting content including the “inspiring” 40-minute documentary Earl’s Fan Mail. Hosted by Jason Lee, this doc found the cast & crew answering questions from fans around the world. Deleted & Extended Scenes and a final blooper reel rounded out the extras.

They came… they thawed… they conquered the hearts of audiences everywhere in the coolest animated adventure of all time! After smashing box-office records and releasing this animated hit on DVD, Fox looked to Reverb Productions to create a truly unique Special Edition DVD release.

For this Super Cool Edition, Reverb developed the Extreme Cool View where viewers follow Scrat deep behind-the-ice as they watch the film and are joined by Cast and Crew, Ice Age experts and even journey to a real excavation site where animals from the Ice Age are discovered! This Special Edition was a massive hit for the studio and subsequently released in over 30 territories around the globe.

Mrs. Doubtfire – Two Disc Special Edition

Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) is no ordinary father, so when he learns his ex-wife (Sally Field) needs a housekeeper, he applies for the job. With the perfect wig, a little makeup and a dress for all occasions, he becomes Mrs. Doubtfire, a devoted British nanny who is hired on the spot. Free to be the “woman” he never knew he could be, the disguised Daniel creates a whole new life with his entire family.

Mrs. Doubtfire was a huge hit for the studio and the laserdisc release of the film had a ton of extras. For this very special re-release, Fox turned to Reverb Productions to produce over 2 hours of new and hilarious content. After digging through the studio’s archives, Reverb emerged with a number of new features, including the documentary From Man to Mrs.: The Evolution of Mrs. Doubtfire, a brand new featurette with Director Christopher Columbus and Star Robin Williams entitled Aging Gracefully, never-before-seen Deleted & Extended Scenes, original make-up tests from preproduction, a look at the animation sequence from Chuck Jones and a 40 minute feature entitled The Improvisation of Mrs. Doubtfire showcasing the on-set improv skills of the cast.

Creator Mike Judge followed up his popular program Beavis and Butthead with this animated hit series, which offered hilarious insights into the modern man of the Midwest.

Reverb teamed up with Mike Judge and Greg Daniels for King of the Hill’s bow on DVD. Reverb produced tons of great content for the Seasons 1 & 2 DVD Box Sets, including the documentary Becoming King of the Hill, The Arlen School of Drawing (an interactive how-to draw characters from the show featurette), The Boy Ain’t Right book excerpts, Animation Evolution featurette, Music Videos, Ultra-rare Director Intros, hundreds of Deleted Scenes  and numerous commentaries from the cast, crew and even the characters themselves! Yup…

True Romance

True Romance

  • Client: Warner Bros. / Morgan Creek

This rock’n’roll adventure story tells of two unlikely lovers who accidentally double-cross the Detroit mob by stealing valuable contraband. Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette, flee to Los Angeles where they are sought by both gangsters and cops.

This project took over a year to complete and was a labor of love. Reverb worked alongside Director Tony Scott and Writer Quentin Tarantino to bring new and exciting content to this cult-classic. Reverb produced a new behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the film, a Director’s Storyboard track (featuring over 1,000 storyboards by Scott, timed to the film), Tarantino’s original and controversial ending (with commentary by Tarantino and Scott), never-before-seen Deleted & Extended Scenes and audio commentaries from Director Tony Scott, Quentin Tarantino, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer and Michael Rapaport.

Rolling Stone magazine hailed this DVD as “essential” and our work was nominated at the 2002 DVD Premier Awards.
